League of Women Voters Monday, March 6
Manistee County Chapter of the League of Women Voters. Everyone is invited to an informal (coffee and chocolate!) gathering to discuss the role and purpose of the League of Women Voters of Michigan, and to consider reconstituting the Manistee County Charter. Mary Grover, President of Grand Traverse Area League of Women Voters will be the Guest Speaker. The gathering will be held at Bear Lake Manor, Corner of Main and Smith Street, Bear Lake, on Monday, March 6, from 7 until 8.30 p.m. The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization established in 1920 to encourage informed and active citizen participation in government. It never supports or opposes any political party or candidate but rather works to increase understanding of local and major policy issues through education. Membership in the League of Women Voters is open to all citizens, women and men, of voting age. See www.lwvmi.org for more information about the League. An RSVP would be appreciated - please call 231 864-2686 or email lwv@deertracks.com.
